It All Starts with the Leather

For our belts, we use Sedgwick English bridle leather, a premium leather renowned for its strength, durability and timeless appearance. Traditionally used in equestrian saddlery, it is an ideal choice for belts that are intended to withstand everyday wear.

Each hide is carefully inspected before cutting to ensure it meets our standards.

Cutting the Strap

The belt strap is cut from the hide to the correct width and length.

Taking care at this stage helps ensure the finished belt remains straight, comfortable and consistent. Precision is important, as even small variations can affect the final appearance.

Shaping the Belt

Once cut, the belt begins to take shape.

The buckle end is carefully formed, the tip is shaped and the leather is prepared for the hardware. Each edge is checked to ensure the proportions remain balanced from one end of the belt to the other.

Fitting the Hardware

The buckle is then fitted using carefully selected solid brass or nickel-plated brass hardware, depending on the design.

Quality hardware is every bit as important as quality leather. A dependable buckle should provide years of reliable use while complementing the appearance of the belt.

Edge Finishing

One of the defining features of a premium leather belt is its edge finish.

The edges are carefully prepared, burnished and polished to create a smooth finish that is both attractive and comfortable to wear. This stage requires patience, but it contributes greatly to the appearance and durability of the finished belt.

Punching the Adjustment Holes

The adjustment holes are marked and punched with precision to ensure consistent spacing.

A well-made belt should not only look balanced but also provide practical adjustment for everyday comfort.

Final Inspection

Before leaving the workshop, every belt receives a final inspection.

The leather, stitching, hardware and finish are all checked to ensure they meet the standard we expect. Small details matter, and taking the time to inspect every product helps ensure each belt is ready for years of everyday use.
